How to remove dog hair on a carpet?

Having a pet is so nice, they are so adorable, affectionate and endearing! We do adore these little creatures!

Despite this, some small problems related to our dear dogs occur such as the presence of hair on rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture. How to remove them?

Here are some tips and tricks that can help you remove dog hair on your rugs. The first thing to do is vacuum your carpet regularly, at least twice a week, and even more. Using your vacuum cleaner so often does not appeal to you? You don’t have time to do it? There are other solutions for you!

Use a rubber glove and rub it on the mat in small circles. All the hair will form a small pile that is easy to remove, which is less time consuming than getting out the vacuum cleaner every time. You can use a sponge soaked in the following solution: 250 ml of vinegar for 1 litre of water and clean the surface. Vinegar is a temporary and affordable solution.

For furniture and small fabric surfaces, use masking tape for paint (the beige one, the least sticky). This will do wonders to remove animal hair! For your information, this trick also works for clothes.

Thinking of replacing your decorative rugs soon?

Tip: Choose a synthetic rug rather than a wool or silk rug, as these will retain animal hair in the rug’s fibres. New carpet manufacturing trends focus on the use of synthetic materials, such as nylon and acrylic, making it easier to maintain with a vacuum cleaner.

Brushing your dog every day will eliminate much of the hair that normally finds itself on your carpets and furniture and will make your pet look great! Perhaps even this will save you additional grooming costs and you can space your doggy’s visits to the groomer.

There are brushes on the market specially designed to pick up animal hair to make it easier for you to vacuum. They are made of synthetic materials or rubber. These brushes are effective for removing animal hair on your fabric furniture, but they are less effective on your carpets, because they will only collect the hair on the surface. There are several different models. Check with a vacuum cleaner retailer in your area.

For thorough cleaning and the removal of all animal hair on your carpets, hire carpet cleaning professionals. The cleaning must be done by steam extraction using a rotating brush to remove any traces of hair, dirt, and dust. Demand a company that has either a workshop for cleaning your carpets or powerful truck-mount units if they are wall-to-wall carpets that need to be cleaned.
